Yin Yoga with Karyn - Nourish You Yoga

$20.00

Karyn's classes are zoomed live in studio on a 75” screen so she is able to view each person. The classes are interactive and she encourages you to ask questions. It is an informal format where Karyn discusses the movements and asks how each particpant’s body feels in that shape and whether changing it slightly gives you more or less range. She can assist with modifying shapes to suit your ability, if you are recovering from injury or health conditions that might restrict your movement.

Yin Yoga focuses on long, slow holds of poses using the body weight and gravity to lengthen and stretch muscles and allow deep connective tissues, such as ligaments and the fascia, to expand over time. This can help to release muscle tension and tightness and reduce the risk of injury in the targeted areas as it stimulates collagen and elastin production in the joints.

Overtime you will notice improved flexibility as the joints are lubricated and increase their range of motion. This assists in maintaining joint health and can potentially prevent degeneration due to age or over-use from high impact sports etc.

Karyn is a very qualified and experienced instructor and fully understands the healing benefits of yoga practice.

After being diagnosed with a chronic disease (Multiple Sclerosis) the way that Karyn practised yoga completely changed.  It helped her to understand the therapeutic and healing possibilities of yoga on so many different levels.  She also came to understand the importance of a class that is inclusive and supportive of whatever the students may need on any given day, regardless of their age, flexibility or ability.

The yoga that she teaches is not about achieving a pretty looking pose just for the sake of it.  It’s become for herself and her students, an ongoing, ever evolving journey of understanding and reconnecting with the body and mind, in which added strengthening and flexibility does happen, but as by-products of the practice.
